Helping you to document the connections of your life…
A natural light photographer, mostly.
From traveling around the country as a photographer, I have familiarized myself with just about every lighting condition, from stark hospital lighting to dreamy sunsets. Each experience has given me the knowledge for future sessions for the perfect outcome.
Most of my work involves natural light, but if there is a need for studio lighting or off-camera flash, I am equipped to accommodate.
Awkward in front of the camera? That’s okay! I look for the organic moments, where connections are preserved between families, couples, strangers, and pets. Sessions are a mixture of posed imagery as well as candid shots to tell the story of who you are.
The process & what to expect
Booking Your Session
Thank you for choosing me to be your photographer. I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones. Booking your session is the easy part, upon sending a message please have the following ready to make for a smooth transaction; 3 dates of availability (unless you’re planning an event) and your retainer fee. The retainer fee is an industry-standard among professional photographers and is to protect our business. This money is non-refundable and is placed to hold the date on my calendar as a commitment on both ends.
Location, Outfits & Planning
I can have as little or as much help in the planning stages as you’d like! I service all of Aroostook County and only charge travel fees after 40 or more miles of travel. I like when clients choose locations that are personal, and important in their lives. A lot of people choose their own property, which I really love because it gives a unique look to every photography session. Feel free to run any outfit ideas by me, I’d love to see what your vision is, and to help where possible. The planning is mostly done via email or Facebook messenger as I am a visual person.
Your photography session day is here! It is best to take a look at travel time to our location ahead of time, and leave with a cushion of time to arrive at least 10 minutes early to put the final touches on your outfits, hair and makeup. This is the day when your final payment will be made either via an invoice or in cash at your session. I prefer that your payment is made prior to our session beginning because that just makes for one less thing to worry about during our shoot so that we can focus on making this experience fun and comfortable for everyone!
Post Processing & Delivery
After your session is over, I return home and load your images to my computer. I select the best images from your session, and I edit them with Photoshop & Lightroom. You can expect to see a sneak peek on my Facebook page within a few days of your session, and the full gallery delivered no later than 3 weeks from your session date. Galleries will come in the form of an online gallery through a website called Pixieset, and a USB gallery which will either be hand-delivered or sent via regular mail. Every session comes with a print release and a generous number of images.
About your photographer
Hi, I’m Ally
WIFE | MOTHER | ARTIST
I believe in being yourself, loving who you are, and writing a story that makes an impression on generations to come. My role in your life as a photographer is to tell that story accurately and to be true.
I recently moved to Northern Maine from the west coast! I was born in California, but I have lived in several states around the country. Although I am a long way from home, photography is something that has made me feel like I am home, no matter where I am.
Creatively, I have been a photographer for 7 years and it is something that I truly love doing. I thrive in situations where I am documenting a connection, whether it is a mother and her children, an engaged couple, or a pair of people that have spent their life together. I love sessions that are emotive and surround documenting the life we’ve lived, the deeper meaning behind photos and why we take them.
My own personal life is full of struggles and love, I am the mother to 7 small children ranging in age from
Most of my clients from my first year are still with me today, and the amazing thing about that is, I have been able to watch them grow their families. It is my hope that all of my clients continue to grow and call me for their biggest milestones. That is something that comes from dedication, great customer service and delivering as promised.
My mission as your Presque Isle photographer is to deliver images that evoke emotion, every time you look at them. My personal goal is to preserve the memory of you by documenting who you are as a person and the connections you’ve made within your life. I want to do that for you, because I love life and I think we should preserve the happy memories.
Videography is a beautiful way of telling your story as well. I offer video services in addition to and as a standalone services for event and session photography. Videos are usually 5 minutes in duration and can include as little or as much talking as you’d like.
